"Learn to be ok with the fact that you're not for everyone. You shouldn't even want to be." - Unknown

I had a resident once whom it seemed everyone loved. One of the kindest people I've ever met. Caring, compassionate, always trying to help everyone.

She called me recently, crying. There was a nurse at work who didn't like her, in fact, was being outright mean to her.

I thought to myself, "If everyone doesn't even like HER, what chance does anyone have!?"

But then I remembered that we can't control how anyone else feels about us. Our goal isn't to have everyone like us.

We're in a position where we have to tell people what to do. We have to fight for our patients. We have to stand up to being disrespected. We interact with a LOT of people every day.

Our job is to care for patients. Our job is to care for ourselves. Our job is to be kind. Our job is to be the best version of ourselves we can be every day.

WEEKLY WELLNESS TIP: You can't control how other people feel about you. All you can do is be the best version of yourself each day. Everyone won't like you. And that's okay.
