"There's no 'should' or 'should not' when it comes to having feelings. They're part of who we are and their origins are beyond our control." - Fred Rogers
Some of us had a happy Thanksgiving, whether at work or at home, our day was joyful. Some of us thought it would be a great day, but instead was full of stress and family arguments. Some of us felt lonely. Some of us felt sad. Some of us grieved loved ones while others celebrated with new friends and family members.
We often set high expectations for the holidays. We set high expectations for how we 'should' feel. We sometimes can be disappointed when the holidays aren't what we hope they will be.
There is no way you 'should' feel on Thanksgiving. It's not always up to you the way that you feel. Just remember however you feel is valid. Take time away when you need to. Take breaks. Allow yourself to feel whatever you're feeling without judgment.
WEEKLY WELLNESS TIP: It's okay to take breaks. It's okay to change expectations. It's okay to feel however you feel today, and every day.
