"You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins." - Jim Stovall

It's easy to get frustrated when things don't happen the way we think they should.

Why didn't the nurse hang that medication sooner? Why didn't the tech get that EKG yet? Why didn't the doctor order the pain meds for my patient? Why hasn't the secretary paged the cardiologist yet?

Before we get frustrated, snap at someone, talk behind people's backs, it's important to remember that we're all on the same team. We don't understand many of the aspects of others' jobs. How long it takes pharmacy to send a medication. How difficult it is to find a pump to put the meds in. How many directions the techs and secretaries are being pulled to do things for everyone.

If we assume everyone is trying their best, give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and remember we're all working for the same goal, our workplace will be a much more pleasant place to be.

WEEKLY WELLNESS TIP: This week, remember we're all on the same team. Assume everyone is working their hardest and trying their best, and consider giving others the benefit of the doubt.
