"It is wise to direct your anger toward problems - not people; to focus your energies on answers - not excuses" - William Arthur Ward

I'm angry I have to cancel my first vacation with my husband in years.
I'm angry that my kids sacrificed all last year to protect adults, and now are going to have to do it again.
I'm angry I can't let my kids hug me when I get home from work until I've fully decontaminated.
I'm angry we have a vaccine, and people won't get it to help protect us all.

It's not wrong to be angry. Wellness does not mean being happy at all times. But it is important not to let that anger take over. We are still health care providers who took an oath to help and inform others. We still have the power to chip away at misinformation and keep repeating the truth to our patients.

I once heard that the number one reason people quit smoking is that their doctor just wouldn't leave them alone about it.

That's where I'm going to direct my anger this week. Not towards shaming or complaining. Instead, towards meeting people where there are. Believing that they are simply misinformed, and my job is to inform them.

WEEKLY WELLNESS TIP: It's ok to be angry. Just ensure anger doesn't take over your life. This week, consider focusing your energies towards solutions instead of frustrations
